Meet Wilfred: Making monitoring easier starts with listening
by Omnidots on Aug 24, 2026, 8:00:00 AM
Wilfred joined Omnidots as Sales Developer in June, bringing 20 years of experience in sales, sales management, and commercial roles.
His focus is now on a new market: vibration and sound monitoring.
After an intensive introduction to Omnidots, the technology, and the monitoring industry, Wilfred is getting to know the market, speaking with customers, and identifying where monitoring processes can become easier and more efficient.
Starting with the conversation
For Wilfred, sales starts with understanding the person on the other side of the table. Throughout his career, curiosity has played an important role in building long-term customer relationships. Not only understanding the business challenge, but also the people behind it. That same approach now shapes his work at Omnidots.
“I want customers to leave a first conversation feeling heard, understood and confident that I can help. If they leave with a clear plan, a positive impression and maybe even a smile or a laugh, I consider it a successful first meeting.”
Because before talking about a monitoring solution, the real question is: what is making the current process harder than it needs to be?
Where monitoring costs time
One challenge Wilfred already hears regularly is how much time a complete monitoring assignment can take.
Installing equipment is only the beginning. Data still needs to be collected, processed, and turned into useful information. For teams working with older monitoring systems, those steps can require considerable time and manual effort.
That is also where some of Wilfred's most interesting conversations have started.
Customers familiar with traditional equipment are often surprised by how quickly Omnidots sensors can be deployed and how straightforward it is to work with monitoring data in Honeycomb. The result is not simply easier technology. It is less time spent managing the monitoring process.
Business is still about people
Technology may solve practical problems, but Wilfred believes strong customer relationships are built on more than products. Understanding a customer's business, goals, and challenges is essential. Just as important is remembering that every business relationship is ultimately a relationship between people.
That is one of the things he enjoys most about working in sales: meeting different people, learning how they work and finding the right path forward together.
Learning from the monitoring specialists
Joining Omnidots also means entering a new industry. Wilfred's goal for his first year is therefore not only commercial growth, but learning as much as possible from the specialists working in monitoring and surveying every day.
INTERGEO offers the perfect opportunity. For Wilfred, it will be his first INTERGEO as part of Omnidots and a chance to meet many customers, partners, and industry professionals face to face.
“There is no better way to learn about the market and what monitoring specialists need than by speaking with the specialists themselves.”
See how much easier monitoring can be at INTERGEO
For anyone still spending too much time setting up monitors, managing projects or processing monitoring data, Wilfred has a simple recommendation: see the complete workflow in action.
At INTERGEO, visitors can experience how quickly vibration and sound monitoring can be set up and how hardware and software work together throughout a project.
And if Wilfred gets to choose the question visitors ask him?
"How quickly can we replace our old fleet with Omnidots sensors?"
Five minutes at the booth should at least provide a clearer idea of what is possible.
Preferably, according to Wilfred, visitors should also leave with a smile.
Outside of work
Away from monitoring and sales, Wilfred enjoys spending time with his two children, family, and friends. Winter means looking forward to snowboarding, while the rest of the year is mainly about having as much fun as possible with the people around him. Coffee helps too, although two or three cups a day is apparently enough.
Welcome to Omnidots, Wilfred.
