Meet Jeff Evans: Helping teams move beyond legacy monitoring

I recently joined the Omnidots North America team as a Senior Account Manager, focused on driving new business and helping more teams discover a better way to approach vibration and sound monitoring.

My day-to-day is centered around connecting with new customers, understanding how they currently work, and showing what is possible when monitoring becomes simpler, faster, and more efficient.

Introducing Jeff Evans_Sales Omnidots North America

A consultative approach from the start

I work with organizations across North America, supporting new business across a wide range of projects and environments.

Every conversation starts the same way: with curiosity.

I approach new customers in a consultative way. That means doing my homework, understanding their world, and focusing the conversation on their needs first.

What are they trying to achieve? What is slowing them down? Where are they losing time or flexibility?

From there, I can introduce how Omnidots approaches monitoring, tailored to their situation.

Moving away from legacy systems

One of the biggest challenges I see is teams being stuck with legacy technology. Systems that are:

  • Cumbersome to set up
  • Time-consuming to manage
  • Expensive to maintain

These limitations don’t just impact monitoring. They affect the entire project.  My role is to help teams move past that.  Not by overcomplicating things, but by showing a better way to get the job done.

“Better monitoring is not about adding more. It’s about removing what doesn’t need to be there.”

Creating real impact for customers

What excites me most is helping customers get time back. When monitoring becomes easier to deploy and manage, teams can:

  • Meet more deadlines
  • Take on more projects
  • Reduce operational overhead
  • Focus on what actually matters

That shift has a direct impact on how successful a project, and a business, can be.

A background built on understanding customers

My interest in this field started early, during an archaeology dig in college. That experience sparked a lasting interest in the geo-sciences space.

Later, at Esri, I deepened that connection by helping organizations understand the value of thinking spatially and using data to drive better decisions.

Throughout my career in enterprise analytics, one thing has stayed consistent:
Start with understanding the customer. Then align technology to create meaningful outcomes.

What makes the work rewarding

For me, it comes down to people.

I enjoy building real connections and bringing useful knowledge into conversations. The most rewarding moments are when you can clearly see that something you introduced is making a customer’s work easier or more effective.

That is what motivates me every day.

Outside of work

Outside of work, I spend my time working on cars, driving them, playing disc golf, and making or listening to music.

I am also always reading something, usually older science fiction.

A fun coincidence: I moved from Atlanta to Minneapolis in 2010, and years later, adopted a cat from a local shelter, only to find out he was originally from Atlanta, too.

And while I can appreciate both, I am definitely more of a night owl.
