New Honeycomb feature: Two-Factor Authentication

Honeycomb just received an extra layer of security: You can now make your account even safer with the Two-Factor Authentication feature!

Please note that enabling Two-Factor Authentication currently means that an account can only be accessed by the user with the code. We are working on a supporting feature that will allow several people to access the account when Two-Factor Authentication is enabled.

How to set up Two-Factor Authentication in Honeycomb

You can find the Two-Factor Authentication under ‘Account’ in Honeycomb. In the drop-down menu, select Security.

TFA Step 1: Security

Here, you can change your password and enable Two-Factor Authentication. Select the latter.

TFA Step 2: Choose Two-Factor Authentication

This will lead you to a confirmation page. Click on Next to set up two-factor authentication.

TFA Step 3: Enable TFA

You can then choose an authentication method: Token generator or Text message.

TFA Step 4: Token or Text Message

Token Generator:

Choose Token generator to add a verification code to an authenticator account (such as Google Authenticator), which will provide you with a token when you log in to Honeycomb.

TFA Choice 1: Token

Text message:

Choose this method to receive a text message with a verification code when you log in to Honeycomb.

TFA Choice 2: Text Message

We recommend also creating a backup token that can be used when you do not have your phone with you. You can add it after adding verification via text message on the Security page in Honeycomb:

TFA Choice 2: Backup Tokens

Once you have gone through these steps, your Two-Factor Authentication is ready to be used. From now on, when you log in with your Honeycomb account from a new location, you will receive a code. This code enables you to log into Honeycomb with an extra layer of security.

If you have any questions about this new feature or the Honeycomb platform, we would be happy to schedule a meeting with you!
