Senior QA engineer - Hybrid Remote

Are you a passionate Senior QA Engineer who loves breaking complex systems in order to make them more reliable? Do you enjoy working in a small, skilled team where you have the freedom and responsibility to make a real impact? At Omnidots, we are looking for a senior-level QA engineer with a generalist mindset who is comfortable building automated system tests in Python, understands IoT applications, and can work closely with our developers on both Python backends and React frontends.

Who are we?

Omnidots is a market leader pioneering technologies that save our customers valuable time while drastically increasing their efficiency. We are the only provider in the industry offering a fully integrated and automated solution to directly perform and analyze vibration and noise measurements in construction. We take pride in being at the forefront of innovation, continuously pushing boundaries and setting industry standards.

We take pride in fostering a work culture that promotes collaboration and where creativity and initiative are valued!

About the role

You will be part of one of the tight-knit, multinational development teams working on Honeycomb, our product for data visualization and management of our SWARM IoT sensors used around construction and infrastructure projects. Your focus will be on end-to-end quality: designing, implementing, and running system tests, rehearsing deployments, and validating that new features and changes behave correctly across our Python backends, React frontends, and IoT data flows.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop automated system tests in Python that cover real-world IoT use cases.
  • Collaborate with developers to understand our Python backend, React frontend, firmware, and IoT architectures and translate that into effective test coverage.
  • Use tools like Selenium to test user flows in the browser.
  • Validate UI components and states using Storybook and integrate those checks into our testing approach.
  • Rehearse and verify deployments, ensuring changes can be rolled out safely and repeatably.
  • Help define and improve test strategies, test data, and coverage for new and existing features.
  • Debug and report issues clearly, and work closely with the team to get them fixed.
  • Document test plans, scenarios, and results so the rest of the team understands what is covered.
  • Work in a hybrid remote setup with a diverse, experienced team.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in QA, test engineering, or similar roles.
  • Strong experience writing automated tests in Python.
  • Experience testing web applications, ideally with React frontends.
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium for end-to-end browser testing.
  • Experience using Storybook (or a similar tool) to validate UI components and states.
  • Understanding of IoT applications or distributed systems and the edge–cloud data flow.
  • Experience in rehearsing and validating deployments as part of a release process.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using CircleCI and Github actions.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting in production environments.
  • Comfort working with Linux environments and common developer tooling.
  • A self-reliant problem solver who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and enjoys working in a small, highly skilled team.
  • Passion for building robust, maintainable, and meaningful test suites that protect product quality.
  • Proficiency in testing APIs and understanding how data flows between devices, backend, and frontend.
  • Basic proficiency with SQL or NoSQL databases to verify data integrity throughout the testing lifecycle.

What we offer

  • supportive team culture where you are always just one chat away from help.
  • A role with real responsibility and ownership, while knowing you have a strong team backing you up.
  • small, skilled, and passionate team where your input matters.
  • A workplace based in Leek, The Netherlands.
  • Competitive salary and benefits.

If you love building high-impact tests, validating complex systems end-to-end, and helping ship reliable software, we’d love to hear from you! 🚀
